27 May 2009 • An audience with Raymond Blanc raises 5000 pounds

Raymond made his fifth visit to Brockenhurst College recently, where he was welcomed by the Hospitality and Catering students. Raymond Blanc took time out to pass on his knowledge to students while they prepared for a 4 course charity dinner in aid of Hospitality Action.
Not only did the students have the pressure of working in the company of a true master chef but BBC South Today were on hand to film the day and broadcasted live from the College’s MJ’s restaurant in the evening. You can watch a video of the recording here.Carey’s Manor Brockenhurst, Hotel Terravina Netley Marsh, Gordleton Mill Lymington and Marriot Hotel Bournemouth made up just a few of the 44 guests from the local Hospitality Industry. They enjoyed a delicious menu of seared scallops, confit of duck, rhubarb pannacotta along with complementing wines donated by Gordleton Mill, Bournemouth Flying Club Café and Matthew Clark Wine Supplier.James Hiley-Jones, General Manager at Carey’s Manor said, “It has been a lovely evening and a pleasure to meet such a charismatic and inspirational chef in Raymond Blanc. The students were given an amazing opportunity to work with someone so well regarded in the hospitality industry.
