MONDAY 01 MARCH 2010                             IN HOSPITAL WITH A BROKEN LEG

Hello friends

This morning, I broke my leg and ankle in five places. An ambulance took me to my local hospital: the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

At this present moment, I am lying in a hospital bed, with every comfort being lavished upon my person! I am now in a private room, white on white, south-facing so the early March sun floods the room! Choice of mineral water, very sexy robe (you know, the one which opens at the back!), a 62 inch flat screen television!

My broken leg rests on silk cushions and two gorgeous nurses - one blonde, one brunette - are holding my hands and singiing lullabies...

...that bit was a dream. But what is true is that everyone has been hugely professional, kind and supportive - thank you to them all.

Back to reality - by the time you read this, I will be on the operating table and the surgeon will be busy cutting and chopping, inserting nails and screws into bones and flesh...

Strangely, I feel separated from it all.

Please wish me well...

(My God, I am so thirsty and famished!)

Best

RB
