TUESDAY 03 JULY 2012 FAREWELL & GOOD LUCK TO CHRIS
Farewell to a talented young chef, Chris Kenny
Hello friends
This week I would like to write a small letter of congratulations,
farewell and good luck to a young chef at Le Manoir who is leaving us to
go on a great adventure to the other side of the world!

Left to right: Executive Head Chef Gary Jones, Head Chef Carl Newberry, Chris Kenny & RB
Congratulations are due to young Chris Kenny, who last year won the ACA
Young Chef of the Year award. He has been in our kitchens at Le Manoir
for five years, having started as a trainee and he now leaves us as a
sous chef. There is nothing more remarkable than seeing young people who
apply themselves and earn their reward through hard work.
He has nothing to fear as he sets off for the next stage in his career -
he has learned so much: aside from his fantastic skills and talent, he
knows all about working as a team, choosing the best produce, and
ensuring that sustainability is at the heart of what we do.
Carl, Gary and I wish him well in Australia and in all that he does: he
knows that loyalty is for life and he can always come back, and always
ask our advice. In the way of these things, Chris is going to work at a
restaurant in Brisbane called Urbane, where the head chef is another of
our protégés at Le Manoir: a very talented young Chef called Alejandro
Cancino, also a previous winner of the UK Young Chef of the Year. Tati -
as he is fondly known - spent over two years in the kitchens here at Le
Manoir.

We wish Chris the very best. The great pleasure for both Gary and myself
is to see these young chefs succeed and become the future talents of
tomorrow.
Bonne chance Chris - let us know how you are getting on!
Best
RB
