On Wednesday 23 May, Sir Peter Ricketts, the British Ambassador to France will host a special evening at the Ambassador's Residence in Paris, where Raymond Blanc will speak to an invited audience of trade and industry professionals and journalists from throughout France about his life and work in Britain and launch the video made with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office: Britain Through My Eyes. Raymond will talk about his life in the UK, having arrived as a young waiter, speaking almost no English. Today he is still there, but as the Chef Patron of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire, acknowledged as one of the world’s finest hotels. The force behind the re-birth of British gastronomy, Raymond has trained more than 27 Michelin-starred chefs.
The Department of UK Trade & Industry is inviting questions from French business to be asked at the Q&A which will follow Raymond's presentation.
