Plants Delivered Competition
Win One of 10 Sets of Trees for Birds
08 March 2012
Would you like to win one of ten Bird Tree Collections, a set of three trees specially chosen to attract birds to your garden? Our friends at Plants Delivered have very generously provided ten sets of these beautiful trees for visitors to Raymond's website.
The Bird Trees collection consists of a trio of trees to specifically chosen to attract birds to the garden, helping to create your very own dawn chorus every morning. Within your collection you will find an Amalenchier, Bird Cherry and Rowan tree in 1ltr pots ready to be planted and enliven your garden. We are sure you will agree this trio of gorgeous trees will be more enticing to birds than a plastic feeder and armchair birdwatchers will be charmed by feathered friends visiting the garden, and take delight in watching slugs and caterpillars being gobbled up!
The collection comes potted in 1 litre biodegradable pots; even the loop lock plant labels are biodegradable ensuring that the packaging is re useable or recyclable. Each tree comes with full care and cultivation instructions on how best to care for them.
Amalenchier - With its oval leaves and smooth stems it will also reward you with white star shaped flowers in the spring, followed by sweet edible black fruits. A deciduous tree, its leaves will turn from dark green to a stunning gold in the autumn before falling off over winter. This particular tree is ideal for smaller gardens as it has a maximum height of around 4m.
Rowan - A stunning ornamental tree, the Rowan also known as Mountain Ash produces fragrant white flowers in spring and orangey-yellow foliage in autumn. Ideal for any size garden this ancient tree has also long been associated with magic and protection from witches harking back to Greek Mythology.
Bird Cherry - A hardy tree that will tolerate cold weather, drought and wet. Requires very little pruning or maintenance. This tree has year round benefits and even has a pretty and compact shape with attractive bark to add interest to the bare winter garden.
To win this delightful collection, delivered to your door, all you have to do is answer three questions:
When does the Amalenchier flower?
What is the Actinidia chinensis otherwise known as?
Which Mediterranean evergreen is traditionally included in bridal bouquets?
You should submit your answers via the Contact page of the website, giving your name, contact details, the subject 'Trees for Birds' and your three answers.
All the answers can be found on the Plants Delivered website:
The ten winners will be selected at random from the correct answers received by Friday 6 April via the Contact page of the website. The judges' decision will be final.
