Le Manoir is 6th in Sunday Times Food List 2012
and 2nd in South East
28 October 2012

Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons has been voted 6th best restaurant in the UK in the Sunday Times Food List 2012. The only list where restaurants are voted for by diners, Le Manoir is once again in the top ten in the country and is second in the South East.
The entry for Le Manoir reads:
"Raymond Blanc has lost none of the passion and energy that took him from
his arrival in England years ago to
the top of French gastronomy in
his adopted home. “He’s like David Bowie — never out of fashion,” says
Laurie Gear, owner of Artichoke (52) and one of a legion of British
admirers who follow in his footsteps. Le Manoir is the grand embodiment
of the food culture he learnt from his mother — Maman Blanc — in a
working-class household near Besançon, in eastern France"
The Sunday Times Food List ranks Britain's top 100 restaurants strictly by the quality of their food, and is compiled from marks and comments from real customers. This year’s list has been compiled from over 75,000 individual reports.
Now in its third year, The Sunday Times Food List is compiled in collaboration with Harden's, whose own restaurant guides base their ratings on the views of diners who eat out regularly. The Sunday Times Food List rankings are based on the food the restaurant serves, though the ratings for ambience are used in the event of a tie.
The full 2012 Sunday Times Food List, listing the top 100 restaurants in Britain, was published in The Sunday Times on October 28.
