Raymond Blanc
Atelier Martell Live Dining Experience with Raymond Blanc at Harrods
18 October 2011

This evening renowned French chef, Raymond Blanc, will host an exclusive celebrity dining experience in the ‘Atelier Martell’ window at Harrods to highlight his passion for French gastronomy, innovation and ‘art de vivre’.

In a UK first, Harrods' iconic Brompton Road windows will provide a stunning setting for the self taught French chef to host a celebrity and craftsman dinner on Tuesday 18th October, proceeds going to his chosen charity Action Against Hunger. After the four course meal created by Blanc for the celebrity guests, Martell’s Master Cellar Master, Benoit Fil, will be on hand to showcase the new Pinel & Pinel Martell trunk and offer cognac tastings whilst presenting the rich heritage of the brand.

Among the guests joining Blanc around the table from 8.00pm on Tuesday 18th October will be veteran radio and TV broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan, model and TV personality Jodie Kidd, entrepreneurial designer Sir Terence Conran and star of The Apprentice, Karren Brady.

Ahead of the event, Martell Ambassador James Robinson said:

“We are delighted with the creation of ‘Atelier Martell’ in the Harrods display windows and the live dining experience hosted by Raymond Blanc will be a fantastic opportunity for us to share the world of Martell with a wider audience.”

Raymond Blanc commented:

“I am very excited for this special evening ahead, and looking forward to celebrating French craftsmanship and ‘joie de vivre’ with my talented guests over dinner cooked by the chefs in the unique and sumptuous surroundings of ‘Atelier Martell’”

For Blanc, who has teamed up with luxury cognac brand Martell, the dinner is an opportunity to highlight his crusade to reignite enthusiasm for his native fare amongst the British audience.  In an era where British taste buds have been bombarded with an array of cuisine styles, Blanc is determined that French flare, expertise and style should not to be overlooked as it still represents the heart of western gastronomy.

The event will be the first time Harrods has hosted a live dinner in its renowned windows. The unique ambience, eclectic guest list and lively debate will come together to make the exclusive Atelier Martell event an exceptional occasion.
