Raymond Blanc visits SeeSaw: the charity providing
grief support for the young in Oxfordshire

19 July 2010

Raymond Blanc is proud to be patron of SeeSaw, the charity providing grief support and counselling for the young and their families in Oxfordshire.

It was SeeSaw's 10th birthday party at Kingston Bagpuize House, nr Abingdon on Sunday 18 July, and Raymond went along to join in the fun, taking a magnificent cake specially baked by the chefs at Le Manoir for the occasion.

Raymond said of the occasion:

"It was the most marvellous day for SeeSaw's 10th birthday party. The weather was beautiful, and the gardens of Kingston Bagpuize House were full of fun and jollity as these incredibly brave children overcame their grief and took a moment to be happy.

"There was face-painting, and cake decorating, and all sorts of performers. I was able to join in with the marching on my crutches. I felt a new empathy with these young people who have been through so much, but I know that my injuries will mend.

"I have nothing but praise for the amazing ladies who provide the counselling and bereavement advice for these vulnerable children and their families, led by the wonderful Rosie Nicol-Harper.

"It was a lovely day and I am proud to be a patron of the fantastic charity which does such incredible work in Oxfordshire."
