SUNDAY 29 JANUARY 2012 SUNDAY LUNCH WITH ADAM AT THE BLACK BOY
A lovely Sunday lunch with Adam at the Black Boy
Hello friends

Today I had a mini appraisal with the lovely Adam. We followed it with lunch at a local restaurant in Headington (Oxford). Both Chris and Abigail worked for me at Brasserie Blanc: they were hard working and consummate professionals.

Now, they are partners in a pub, The Black Boy, in the charming old part Of Headington. Fireplaces, lots of light streaming in, monochrome silver and black wallpaper, spacious room and a fabulous greeting from Abi and her team. Children and families are actively welcomed. It was so lovely to see large tables of friends and families with kids having a good time together. Another advantage is that you can park your car easily and have a stroll in the village.

The food is very, very good. I had a squid salad, and then a proper wild grey leg partridge with its juices and a richly textured barley risotto and finally a delicious Tiramisu. Adam enjoyed poached eggs on a meaty black pudding, followed by traditional roast beef and all of its trimmings and a good lemon tart, though pastry was slightly undercooked.
Thank you Chris, Abi and the team for such a delicious lunch at The Black Boy!
