Lunch with an old friend
It is so rare that one has the luxury to eat a full five course meal with a good friend.
Heston and I organised this date for lunch at Le Manoir a few months ago. We both kept our date and it was worth it. Not for the photography styling, as it is rather poor! But the conversation was lively, interesting and mostly fun ...we both ended up signing about 20 copies of my latest book Raymond Blanc Kitchen Secrets (I should invite Heston more often!) then we said hello to all our delighted guests.
For Heston, it was not much a day off, but for both of us it was wonderful to meet, eat delicious food, enjoy fabulous service and a great dish from my chef Gary Jones: lobster, red pepper jus.
Merci to Le Manoir team; you were all brilliant!
