Judging the Cateys - the Oscars of the Hotel & Restaurant Industry
Hello friends
Within the hotel and restaurant industry, receiving a Catey Award is like receiving an Oscar, no less! The Cateys are the creation of Caterer & Hotelkeeper, the industry bible (which I shall be guest editing on 18 May!).
Last year, Le Manoir won the "Group Hotel of the Year", and on top of that, Philip Newman-Hall - our fantastic General Manager - also won 'Manager of the Year" (link to news). These are great honours for any hotelier - it is your peers and colleagues who are selecting the winner.
Last Wednesday, I spent the morning along with other industry leaders, at the Dorchester Hotel helping to select the 2012 winner of the same award that Le Manoir won last year: Group Hotel of the Year.
Great Britain boasts some of the best hotels in the world. And the list from which we had to choose was impressive, to say the least! Who won? Well, you will have to wait until 3 July to find out. But I assure you, the winner - and all the nominees - are of the highest possible quality.
