SATURDAY 23 APRIL 2011 • A MUCH NEEDED NIGHT OFF!
Good Friday - the end of Lent

Hello friends
My lovely Natalia succeeded in taking me out of Le Manoir for a whole day escape. We stayed at Lucknam Park, near Bath. The 18th century property (also a member of Relais & Chateaux) stands in thousand of acres of rolling hills and forests.

It was the perfect place to let go of stress, and relax. The food at the Brasserie was truly delicious, light and inventive (a salad of watercress and goat's cheese. A steak of tuna, perfectly rare and warm at heart, grilled mackerel and carraway seeds ... and Deutz champagne ...
Saturday morning...
Breakfast on the sundrenched terrace: I feel like a human being again, reading the papers, conversing with Natalia.

Maybe because of this hectic life, the first warm spring sunshine, maybe because of the beautiful surroundings and the gentle Natalia close by... this moment is blissfully appreciated.
As the scientist says, happiness is a moment... and I am enjoying it!
Tomorrow is our traditional Easter egg hunt at Le Manoir - I will let you know how it goes.
Happy Easter to you all.
Best RB
