WEDNESDAY 21 MARCH 2012                         A VERY HAPPY CELEBRATION

Lunch with my partners at Le Manoir

Hello friends

On Monday at Le Manoir we had a great meeting – of friends – of 40 of the people I am working with to develop the values of my brand and my ethics. It was a chance to celebrate, and to enjoy a little time in the company of my partners.

There is no greater pleasure than to be able to link business with friendship. It is such a potent mix, and even more so when linked with strong ethics and strong business principles: then you have a formidable combination!

All my business partners are embracing this approach to business. There is no doubt that for businesses to be sustainable, they must adopt these ethics, these values. There can be no more “business as usual”: we are in the middle of a deep recession, and one of the many things each of my partners has in common is the way they are approaching this challenge; with willpower, with ethics and with positive efforts to adapt and change.

So, on a beautiful spring day, with the last of the snowdrops, the first of the crocuses and so many daffodils in bloom, and with the sun bathing us in warmth, we all sat down in a spirit of conviviality.  Spring is so welcome, such a sign of what is to come, and this party was a celebration of that. With superb wine and wonderful food, we created a magical moment.

I am so fortunate that my partners have supported me, and that with each of them we have worked together to create products - of all kinds – which reflect our ethics and our principles. I would never put my name to an inferior item, and I truly believe that this is reflected in the associations and businesses I work with.

So let us raise a glass to good people, good principles, good ethics and good business, and to all those people who support them!

Best
